Troops Out demonstration on Tyneside simultaneous with national demo 24.02.07
On 24th February 2007 supporters of the Revolutionary Communist Group and its newspaper Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! took to the streets once again to protest against the British Labour Government's brutal invasion and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. RCG activists worked together with members of Stop the War coalition to organise a local sister demonstration to complement the national demonstration against the war in London. FRFI supporters used street theatre to expose British interests in Iraq and showed that the British Labour Government has no concern for either British working class soldiers or Iraqi civilians. There was an open mic which attracted a lot of attention and some people gained the confidence to speak for the first time. | ||
